FAQ
According to law, all commercial businesses, including stores, are obliged to use sales registers. It can be bought or rented, but you can't operate without it at all.
Self-employed individuals and sole proprietors who pay self-employment tax, as well as businesses operating in remote regions or hard-to-reach areas. At the same time, sole proprietors or LLCs that sale excisable products (alcohol, tobacco) must use a sales register regardless of their location.
If you accept only online payments, you may select special devices for online sales. In the list of the Tax Service, they are designated as "FS". Such machines don't contain a printing device, because they send receipts electronically. This solution is suitable only for payments made on the website. It can't be used for a delivery service or pickup location.
YooMoney offers a user-friendly solution for online stores designed for sending receipts. Using it, you don't need to pay for equipment and a fiscal storage drive. Recording at the Tax Service, connection, and configuration of the device aren't necessary either.
YooMoney sends payment details to the partner's sales register. Then, a receipt is created and sent to the Tax Service and to customers by a fiscal data operator (OFD). Everything is set according to 54-FZ. The commission per receipt is 0.1%.
Another option is renting a cloud-based sales register. In this case, our partners will help you to record your device at the Tax Service and enter into the contract with OFD. If you have both a sales outlet and an online market, it's better to purchase a device for printing paper receipts at the office, and integrate it with YooMoney on the website.
If a company has only shopping pavilions, it can select any sales register: a mobile one, smart terminal, POS system, or a fiscal data recorder. It all depends on the customer flows and the payment method. For example, you need a bank card reader for accepting cashless payments or a device with a cash drawer for cash payments.
If you have a delivery service, a courier may accept payments via a small-sized mobile device. While a POS system is optimal for accepting payments at the sales outlet with large customer flows.
The devices have different costs. The price is influenced by the presence of a fiscal storage drive, number of additional devices that can be connected, and other technical characteristics.
Failure to comply with law requirements threatens a business with following fines:
- for sole proprietors: 25-50% of total amount of settlements made without recording, but not less than 10,000 rubles;
- for LLCs: 75% of total amount, but not less than 30,000 rubles.
There're also penalties for repeated violation: disqualification of the director for 1-2 years or suspension of the company's operations for up to 90 days.
