F.A.Q.
It depends on how the business plans to accept payments: by couriers, on the website, in the app, or at a pickup location.
When it comes to delivery, the courier hands the order to the customer, accepts payment, and creates a receipt. In this case, mobile sales register is suitable. Such devices are lightweight and small-sized, they are easy to carry and have all the necessary functions for making payments under FZ-54.
When online stores or apps use special payment acceptance systems, the receipt is created at the moment of payment while the sales register must be linked to the page and the payment system. If you use a regular device, you'll have to print receipts instantly, otherwise the law will be violated.
It's also possible to use devices designed for e-commerce which are marked as "FS" in the list of approved sales registers, and are suitable only for online payments. They send electronic receipts to customers. You can also use a cloud-based sales register.
The YooMoney service will help you enable online payment acceptance via different ways to comply with the law 54-FZ.
At pickup locations, you can use a mobile sales register, a fiscal data recorder, a POS system, or a smart sales register. Customers may pay for their orders immediately and then pick them up or, conversely, they may place an order and pay for it only upon receipt.
You also may send an invoice with details to the customer by email. In this case, any sales register can be used. Once you received money, the receipt should be created by the end of the next business day.
Companies and sole proprietors that don't need to create printed receipts may use cloud-based sales registers for accepting cash and online payments. Such devices are suitable for online stores, marketplaces, apps, delivery or offsite services, public transportation, vending machines, and payment terminals.
In this case, payment fiscalization is remote. Instead of printing a receipt, the digital sales register sends it to the customer by email, phone, or in the app.
A cloud-based sales register is called a virtual sales register, but it's not the same thing. A digital sales register is a device with a fiscal storage drive which is rather located in a partner's data center than at the retail outlet or sole proprietor's office. The company connects to it remotely and uses its business capabilities "in the cloud".
A virtual sales register is a program. Its receipts are encrypted using third-party services and their sending doesn't require the sales register and the fiscal data operator (OFD), as in Belarus and Uzbekistan. In Russia, you may only use cloud-based sales registers.
According to the letter of the Federal Tax Service ED-4-20/19359 of 26.09.2017, when a sole proprietor files a record, they may specify several domains in the column "sales register's location". Therefore, yes, a single sales register may be used for several online stores.
